FUFA Big League: Police come from a goal down to defeat newcomers Young Elephants

Police FC 2-1 Young Elephants – Kavumba Recreation Grounds.

Police FC needed a late come back to secure maximum points at their opening game against Young Elephants at their home Kavumba Recreation Grounds.

Police started a better side dominating and creating chances though instead were scored by Young Elephants who utilised their scoring chance in the 21st minute.

Oola scored for Young Elephants a diving header thanks for a well delivered cross from Majid Musena.

Police FC didn’t get off track as they remained calm in getting an equaliser with their home fans cheering to them.

Second half substitute Denis Kalanzi brought back life to Simon Mugerwa’s coached side when he banged an equaliser in the 63rd minute.

Police continued to attack and could get the winning goal as early in the 70s minute but Isaac Ogwang and Herman Wasswa failed to capitalize their chances.

In the 90th minute, Brian Obedi headed in Davis Mutebi’s free kick to gift Police FC the winning goal.

Action in FUFA Big League resumes on Tuesday 25th, September with Mbale Heroes hosting Kataka FC.
