Masaza Cup: Mawokota, Busiro settle for a draw as Budu and Ssingo pick massive away victories

The second round of the Buganda Masaza Cup kicked off over the weekend with mixed results coming as Busiro held off Mawokota in a goalless draw at Buwama playgrounds.

Both sides played under alot of intense pressure from the fans as they needed to win the game so as to keep their hopes of qualifying out of the group stages alive.

Action between Mawokota and Busiro

Mawokota playing at home was the better side in the day but they failed to keep the composure Infront of goal as they missed alot of goalscoring opportunities in what could have been a huge win at home to complete a double against the defending champions.

A goalless draw ensures that now Mawokota moves to the second place in the Muganzirwaza group with 9 points surpassing who drop to the third with 8 points.

In a group led by Gomba on 11 points, Busiro remain in the fifth place with just 6 points from the six games played.

Buddu claimed a massive 3-0 away win against Kooki to maintain their top of the lead in the Masengere group as they moved to 12 points.

Goals from Puis Ssebulime, Isaac Ofoyirwoth and George Isingoma were enough for Buddu as they picked maximum points away from home.

In the same group, On form Buwekula also claimed a 1-0 victory against Kyadondo at St. Peters playgrounds as they maintained pressure to table leaders moving to 12 points with a separation of goal difference.

Brancha Mulumba scored the only in the game as Buwekula claimed victory.

Ssingo claimed a 1-0 away win against Bugerere at Ntenjeru Ssaza grounds as they extended their lead with 13 points in the Bulange group.

Yusuf Mukwana scored their only goal of the day.

In the samd group, Butambala drew 1-1 with Bulemeezi with goals from Derrick Bulungi and David Opio respectively.
