CAF Women’s Champions League: JKT Queens defeat Ethiopian CBE to represent CECAFA region

JKT Queens(Tanzania) 0 (5) – (4) 0 CBE (Ethiopia) – FUFA Technical Center Njeru 

Tanzania Giants JKT Queens defeated  Commercial bank of Ethiopia in penalties to win the final slot to represent CECAFA region in CAF Women’s Champions League.

In normal time, the game ended goalless after JKT Queens’ custodian Najiat Abass Adrisa made some outstanding saves to keep her side in the game.

CBE’s skipper Loza Abera  had chances to put her side into a lead, but JKT Queens’ custodian Najiat Abass Adrisa had her good day in office to deny her some one on one.

It was the same story in penalties as Najiat Abass saved Messay Temesgen  penalty to give her side a one goal advantage.

Ester Mabanzi, Donisia Daniel, Winfred Gerald, Anastacia Katunzi and Happyness Mwaipaja all scored their penalties for JKT Queens.

The development means JKT Queens will now represent CECAFA region in the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League.

CAF Women’s Champions League 2023 will be held in Abdjan, Ivory coast from November 5th to 19th.

In the other game to determine the best third team, Burundi’s Bujja Queens defeated Kenya’s Vihiga Queens on a 1-0 score thanks to the goal from Lydia Akoth.
