CAF Champions League: Vipers’ Neiva to open up against Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy

Uganda Premier league winners 2022/2023 Vipers SC will face off with Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy in a return leg of the first preliminary round in CAF Champions league at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

The venoms head coach Leonard Martin’s Neiva has vowed to play a more offensive game as they look forward to overturn a 2-0 first leg score as they succumbed to a defeat away from home.

The first leg in Botswana played at Labatse Sports Complexbended in favour of Jwaneng Galaxy 2-0 courtesy of Thabang Vincent’s brace.

This meant that a reverse fixture at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende will require Vipers SC to score three goals and above to progress to the next Preliminary round.

Vipers head coach Leonard Martins Neiva revealed the importance of playing so offensive.

” This game for us we need to play so offensively. We need to score, we just need to think about about scoring” Neiva Said before adding.

” An of course, we can’t concede goals, We expect alot from Galaxy FC, they have a very good squad, a very good coach”.

” We have the ability and capacity to come back. They have a two goal advantage, and even if we win 3-1 they progress, so we have to make sure that we don’t concede” The Brazilian concluded.

Vipers SC will relie more on offensive players including captain Milton Karisa, Yunus Sentamu, Abdul Lumala, Bright Anukani and Brazilian Giancarlo Rodriguez.

The aggregate winner will have to face either Comoros’ Djabal FC or South Africa’s Orlando Pirates in the second preliminary round.
