Taddeo Lwanga: Midfielder joins Rwandese giants

Uganda Cranes midfielder Taddeo Lwanga has completed a move to Rwanda Premier League giants APR FC on a two years deal.

Lwanga joins the Rwandase club as a free agent, after ending his stay at Djiboutian side Arta Solar, a side he had joined last year in August.

And he was officially unveiled on Saturday,
alongside Burundi midfielder Ismail ‘Pitchou’ Nshimirimana

Lwanga’s arrival ends APR’s ten year ban that was put on recruiting any foreign based player.

The club, since 2012, had adopted a policy of using 100% homegrown players.

But recently, APR management confirmed that they will buy foreign players to help them perform well at continental level, effective next season.

And Lwanga brings in that vast experience at the continental level, having previously helped Tanzanian giants Simba SC between 2020 and 2022.

His new side APR won last season’s League title and will compete in next season’s CAF champions League.

Previously, here in Uganda, Lwanga played for SC Villa and Vipers SC before he left for professional football way back.
