Power needed Overtime to overcome UPDF Tomahawks in a closely contested NBL affair at YMCA court in Wandegeya.

Power played catch-up for the better part of the fourth quarter, but Elvis Mpeti hammered in a put-back with less than five seconds to tie the game 45-all and necessitate Overtime.

And Timothy Odeke’s side extended their momentum in Overtime, with Elvis Ssentogo scoring five points down the stretch to seal a hard fought win.

Pauti Ozias Kikomba led the way with a double double of 17 points and 20 rebounds for Power.

Elvis Ssentongo and Mpeti scored 10 points each to help Power sail through.

Andrew Gang, with 10 points, was the only UPDF player to reach double digits in scoring while Felix Mukunzi contributed 14 rebounds.

Power missed 27 of their 31 shots from outside and made 30 turnovers in a game they had no business winning.

It was a game with less to admire as both sides struggled to get their offense going. And no team had reached the 20-point mark at halftime!

But Power, who finished the affair on top, will have fewer complaints as they moved to eight wins.

Baker Kyambadde who was animated throughout the contest, have now lost 11 of their 15 games this season.
