New York Red Bulls: Ibrahim Kasule Promoted to Senior Team

New York Red Bulls have promoted Ugandan midfielder Ibrahim Kasule to the senior team.

Kasule, who has been with the New York Red Bulls II side has been signed on a short term deal.

And straight away, New York Red Bulls named Kasule on the bench against New England Revolution on Sunday morning.

“The New York Red Bulls have signed New York Red Bulls II midfielder Ibrahim Kasule to a short-term agreement,” the club announced today.

It is good news for Kasule, who only joined the MLS side in March this year.

And ever since his arrival, he has been a shinning star together with his Ugandan teammate Frank Ssebuufu.

The midfielder leads the club scoring chat with six goals and three assists, guiding his side NYRB II to fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

And those six goals have all come in his last seven matches and is ranked third among active MLS NEXT Pro midfielders in goals scored this season.

At the senior team ,New York Red Bulls, Kasule becomes the most recent Ugandan player be promoted, after former KCCA midfielder Steven Sserwadda.

Before making move to the MLS this year, Kasule was Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants, where he was also a key player in the first round last season.
