Nam Blazers continued their ascendancy with a deserved 66-47 victory over UCU Canons in a league game played at YMCA court in Wandegeya.

Peter Cheng and Jimmy William scored a joint game high 18 points, with the former adding 9 rebounds to his tally.

Chris Omanye had 11 points and five assists while Michael Makiadi contributed 18 rebounds and 6 assists in the win.

UCU who were without head coach Nicholas Natuhereza, put up a contest in the first half which they trailed by just a point at the end.

But were out-scored 11-23 in the third quarter and the Blazers never looked back before sealing a 19-point game.

The Canons will feel hard done by a couple of turnovers, committing 21 against Namuwongo’s seven.

They managed just 10 points off the bench and shot an ugly 4-of-15 from long range.

Joel Kayiira had a double double of 12 points and 19 rebounds, while Lwabaga Ibanda and Jimmy Otim added 11 and 10 points in the order.

The Blazers have now won seven games in a row since losing to City Oilers in their opening game of the Second Round.

The victory is preceded by wins against Kampala Rockets, KIU, JKL, UPDF, Power and Ndejje Angels.

The Blazers’ remaining games are against KCCA Panthers, Rezlife Saints and Our Saviour.

The loss, is the third in a row for UCU Canons who were recently beaten by Ndejje University Angels and KIU Titans.
