Mawokota continued with their perfect start in this year’s Masaza Cup following a 1-0 win over Gomba in a game held at Buwama on Sunday.

Calvin Peter Emayo first half strike (penalty) was enough as Mawokota picked a hard fought victory.

The win, second for Mawokota ensured that they maintained their perfect run.

They have won two in two, having beaten Busiro in the opener and are now on top of the Muganzirwaza group with six points.

It was another brilliant day for Richard Malinga’s men, who were playing their first home game.

And the fans turned up in large numbers to cheer up their team at Buwama.

Mawokota in return never disappointed them and Emayo’s first half penalty in the 32nd minute was enough to give them maximum points.

The win saw Mawokota move to top of their group and as well a good message to all their competitors this year.

Elsewhere, Buwekula handed Buddu their first defeat following their 1-0 win in a game held at St. Peters technical grounds on Sunday.

It was another good day for Buwekula, who are now leading the Masengere group with six points after two games.

For Buddu, it was outing for Simon Peter Mugerwa coached team as they suffered their first defeat this year.

The loss leaves them third in the Masengere group with just three points.
