Maroons Reward Defender with New Contract

Uganda premier League side Maroons FC has rewarded defender Patrick Bayiga with a new contract.

The SportsNation can reliably confirm that Bayiga has inked a two-year employment contract with the Muhammad Ssenfuma coached side.

Bayiga played a key role last season has Maroons FC put up a spirited fight to silence doubters on their return to Uganda Premier League.

The Towering defender has spent over four years at Maroons since 2019/18 season.

The Prison Warders have already let five players depart as they reshuffle their squad for next season.

League golden glovee winner Simon Tamale joined Rwanda’s Rayon Sport after his contract expired.

Forward Noel Nasasira, Samson Kigozi and Brian Nkuubi left the club after their contracts expired.

Striker Brian Kayanja returned to his parent club KCCA FC.

Maroons also rewarded head coach Muhammad Ssenfuma with a new three years contract.

Maroons finished sixth on the Uganda premier League table with 41 points from 28 league games.
