Kitara: Lwesibawa, Sseruyidde Among 16 Released Players

New Uganda premier League side Kitara FC have confirmed the released 16 players.

The new developments were confirmed on Saturday via the club’s social media handles.

Among the released players is midfielder Moses Sseruyide, whose contract ended last month.

Sseruyide had joined the Royals at the start of their Big League campaign, after ending his stay at URA FC last year.

And he leaves the club a happy man, having played 29 games out of the 30 and was a key member in Kitara’s return to the top flight League.

The pair of Farouk Katongole and Godfrey Lwesibawa also join the list of departures.

The two said players had joined Kitara in the January transfer market for a six months contract but club confirmed that they are not renewing their stay.

And for Lwesibawa, he was recently suspended by FUFA for allegedly engaging in match fixing.

The other players on the list of departures include goalkeeper Kagiri Michael, Ssali Davis, Onono Rogers, Kayondo Ronald and John Wesley Kisakye.

Adibo Samuel, Mwesigwa John Stuart and Kizito Zakayo, Kayondo Henry and Katerega Abasi have all been let go by Kitara.

The club also said that the released players will receive a token of appreciation for their contribution towards their successful campaign in which they were also crowned FUFA Big League champions.

Kitara have already confirmed Brian Ssenyondo as their new head coach, replacing Sam Simbwa, who left the club after guiding back to UPL.
