Kabaka’s Coronation Golf Tournament To Focus on HIV Fight

All is set for the Kabaka’s Coronation Golf Tournament due Saturday, July 22 at Uganda Golf Club in Kitante.

The tournament is held in celebration of Kabaka’s coronation – When the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II ascended the throne in Buddo, Naggalabi in 1993.

The proceeds from this tournament, the organizers said, will be channeled to fight HIV/AIDS in Uganda.

“We expect the Katikkiro to tee off and lead the teams that will be participating, we shall be having Royal Princess Kiga who will be crowning the occasion later in the day by giving out prizes,” Buganda Golf Association Patron Owek. Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule confirmed.

“This is a big occasion for us and we thank our very sponsors and collaborators including Uganda Golf Club who have given us a good Course.

“The purpose is to collect money that will help out people suffering from HIV, and also possibly eliminate HIV by the year 2030.”

It’s strong to note that the Kabaka was in 2017 appointed the UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

There will be a prize giving ceremony at the end of the day where the top six teams will be awarded
prizes, as well as the overall individual winners.

The prizes are sponsored by Pearl Dairy Lato Milk.
