ISF World Schools Football 2023: Uganda’s St Noa Girls School settles for Bronze

Uganda’s representatives in girls football category St Noa Girls School emerged champions of Bronze medal after defeating Germany 2-0.

Peace Olga Niyomwungere and second half substitute Jowelia Nagadya scored the two goals for the Ugandan side at Splendid FUS Stadium in Rabat City.

Sarah Babirye who is the team captain at St Noa Girls School expressed her happiness and thanked the organizers, coaches and her teammates.

“I am extremely happy for the bronze medal, l thank the organizers, coaches, managers, teammates and fervant fans who stood by us throughout the journey”.

“The bronze medal served as a driving force for the team, motivating us to strive for greater heights in the future” She concluded.

Head coach Mukubya revealed on what aided St Noa Girls School to glory of the bronze medal.

“Collective effort, unwavering determination, hard work and the spirit of Unity have fueled our success”.

“Now eyes are set on future challenges and the team is now gearing towards recovery and preparations for the forthcoming FEASSSA games in Rwanda” he added.

Meanwhile in the final game, China 1 came a goal down to defeat China 2 with a 2-1 scoreline.

Yu Zhang scored the two goals for China 1.

For the awards, Ukraine (girls) and Mexico (boys) clinched the best fair play award.
