Godfrey Sekibengo: URA FC sign Buddu Ssaza Midfielder

Uganda Premier League side URA FC has officially unveiled Buddu Ssaza midfielder Godfrey Ssekibengo.

Sekibengo has joined the Tax Collectors on a three years deal and his official unveiling was made on Friday morning.

“URA FC is pleased to announce the signing of teenage creative midfielder Sekibengo Godfrey,” reads part of the statement from the club.

Ssekibengo is a promising midfielder with good composure, an eye for goal, good passing skills and he has proved his qualities at different levels.

And in the recent USSSA football championship held in Fortpotal, Sekibengo, while at St. Henrys Kitovu as the assistant captain, he was a key player despite their 1-0 loss over St. Mary’s Kitende in the final.

That outstanding performance attracted URA to go for his signature.

Ssekibengo has also featured for KCCA JT, nationals teams U15, U17 and is currently playing for Buddu Ssaza in the ongoing Masaza Cup competition.

In some of his achievements, he was part of Kampala junior team (KJT) that played Gothia Cup China in 2017 and 2018 U12, won both tournaments and was the (MVP).

At URA, he becomes the fourth signing at the club after teenagers Kisiriko Denis Luzige, Kisolo John Innocent and Amis Bwangani.

The club has already let go of three players – Ronald Kigongo, Salim Abdallah and Living Kabon.
