Tanzanian giants Young Africans (Yanga) have unveiled Uganda Cranes defender Gift Fred.
Gift joins Yanga as a free agent after running out his contract at SC Villa.
The former Booma FC player joined the Jogoos in August 2021, after winning the Masaza Cup title with Gomba.
The developments ends the transfer talk surrounding the player’s future, with Ethiopian side St George was also linked to the defender.
Gift was outstanding last season for Villa despite the side losing the title on last day of the season.
And he was named in the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League best team of the season at the recently concluded Pilsner UPL awards.
At Yanga, he joins Uganda Cranes teammate Khalid Aucho while Wakiso Giants duo Shariph Kimbowa and Moses Aliro failed to secure deals after trials at the Club.
Gift started Uganda Cranes 2-1 loss against Algeria in AFCON Qualifiers last month in Cameroon.
