Gadafi Wahab: Midfielder Hints On Next Move

Since the end of the 2022-23 season, that also marked the end of Gadafi Wahab’s two-year contract with Arua Hill SC, there has been a lot of speculations concerning where the midfielder will be playing from next season.

Some reports linked him to KCCA and NEC among other UPL clubs, but the Adjumani-born and made football star seems very comfortable in West-Nile, and is very willing to continue with Arua Hill SC, a club he joined in 2021.

In a Thursday morning interview on Arua’s Radio Pacis, Wahab explained that he is open to receiving offers from elsewhere, but he would want to first hear what Arua Hill has to say.

He said, “All that is reported in the media and what you read in the papers about me are just rumors. And all that is expected because I performed well last season.”

“But for now, just like I have ever said before, I will always give the first priority to Arua Hill. If anything does not go through, that’s when I will think of another team.”

Wahab had a successful campaign with Arua Hill this past term – he scored some important goals, he assisted a numerous number of times, he won Man Of The Match Awards and was consequently named in the Upl Best XI of The Season.

It simply has been the best season the midfielder has ever had in UPL in terms of numbers. He was involved in 13 goals – he scored five and assisted eight to be nominated among the best three midfielders of the UPL alongside eventual winner Milton Karisa and Allan Okello.

Offcourse, it’s only a logical decision that the former Onduparaka captain who has also previously played for Wakiso Giants would rather prioritise playing at home, in West-Nile – he has been at his best in each one of the two Arua-based sides, while he struggled abit away from home with the Purple Sharks.
