CAF Champions league: Vipers to face Botswana’s Jangweni Galaxy in the first Preliminary round

Uganda Premier league Champions Vipers SC are to face Botswana’s Jangweni Galaxy in the first Preliminary round of CAF Champions league.

The draws were held on Tuesday afternoon in Cairo, Egypt.

The aggregate winner between Vipers SC and Jangweni Galaxy will have to face opposition from Comoros’ Djabal FC or South Africa’s Orlando Pirates in the second Preliminary round.

It will be the second successive year for Vipers to represent Uganda in the CAF Champions league having been champions of Uganda Premier league in both years.

Last year, they defeated DR Congo’s Giants TP Mazembe in the Second Preliminary round to seal a place in the group stages of CAF Champions league.

Vipers SC will be the first to visit Botswana’s Jangweni Galaxy between dates 18th to 20th August, while will later host between dates of 25th, to 27th of August.

About Botswana’s Jangweni Galaxy, they were the champions of Botswana with 72 points, 8 points ahead of second team Gaborone United.

At the same page with Vipers SC, they first qualified for CAF Champions league last year.
