Buddu will be eyeing a perfect start in this year’s Masaza Cup when they welcome Kooki Ssaza on Sunday.

The game, to be held at Masaka Recreation ground, will the opening game for Buddu, who are seeking for a third title.

They were beaten finalists this year as they lost to Busiro 2-1 in a final held at Wankulukuku stadium.

And since then, a couple of things have changed at Buddu including the acquisition of a new head coach in Simon Peter Mugerwa.

Even, a couple of star players like Bruno Bunyaga (URA) and Denis Kalanzi (Police FC) are no-longer on this team.

And on Sunday, Mugerwa will be starting a journey with a new side as they target maximum points infront of their home fans.

They have had some friendly games, including that 2-2 draw against Bugerere at Masaka recently.

And they will also rely more on some few experienced players like Godfrey Ssekibengo, as they start the journey to a third title.

Buddu are in the masengere group alongside Buweekula, Kyaggwe, Kyadondo, Buluuli and Kkooki.

On the other hand, Kooki will be seeking to hurt Buddu when they visit them at Masaka.

Recently, their camp was raided and it is reported that a couple of players sustained injuries, given that Kamuswaga doesn’t agree with the Masaza competition taking part in his territory.

But despite all the shortcomings, they will put all their focus on Sunday’s game against Buddu.

They have not gone far in the past editions, and Sunday’s game presents them a big test as they start their Masaza Cup campaign.
