The Startimes Uganda Premier League alongside their partners Pilsner held the sixth Awarding ceremony for the best performers in the Month of May at Kati Kati restaurant in Lugogo.
Fresh form guiding Vipers SC to their first double in Ugandan football, Alex Isabirye Musongola was crowned the best coach for the month of May whereas Maroons FC goalkeeper Simon Tamale having had one of the best seasons in his playing career he was once again crowned the best player.
Isabirye saw off competition from Arua Hill FC coach Charles Livingston Mbabazi and URA FC head coach Sam Timbe as he guided the Venoms to the Startimes Uganda Premier League trophy in the last seven games where he won four games.
For Simon Tamale who kept four clean sheets in the with three man of the match performances, he was voted above KCCA FC’s Rogers Mato who managed to score 3goals in four games and Bashamu Mugwa of Busoga United.
Besides awarding the best performers in the month of May, Uganda Premier League CEO Bernard Bainamani announced the dates for the SUPL End of the season Awards which are slated to take place on the 28th June.
The end of the season Awards will have 13 categories with fans also getting a chance to nominate their player of the season and also participate in the voting in some categories.
