NBL Second Round: Nam Blazers To Open With Oilers Despite Objection

Friday, June 16
•JKL Lady Dolphins Vs JT Lady Jaguars – 7pm
•Nam Blazers Vs City Oilers – 9pm

Nam Blazers will open the second round of the National Basketball League with City Oilers.

This, is per the fixture released that will see the two sides face off on June 16 at YMCA Court in Wandegeya.

However, a source at FUBA told this website that Nam Blazers had requested not to play in the opening week of the second round.

The Blazers claim that they are still behind in preparations after difficult days that saw their League manager Grace Buwooza attacked by thieves while coach Stephen Nyeko lost a mother.

But the requests seem to have fallen on deaf ears.

The Oilers who finished the first round unbeaten, beat the Blazers 57-51 on April 14.

The Second round will end on August 19 before the playoffs get underway on August 25.

Besides the weekend of August 12 when games will be held at KIU Kansanga, the League will be played at two venues ie YMCA and Lugogo.

Abja Park in Naalya, home for Nam Blazers, that hosted two game weeks in the first round and UCU Mukono have been left out.

Insiders reveal that FUBA and Nam Blazers failed to agree on gate collection share, and the move to leave out Abja Park looked inevitable.
