Goalkeeper Simon Tamale has completed a move to Rwanda Premier League side Rayon Sports.
Tamale joins the Rwanda based side on a one year deal and his unveiling was made official on Thursday.
“Rayon Sports is pleased to officially announce the signing of the 28 year old Ugandan international goalkeeper Simon Tamale who previously played for Maroons FC. He is the best goalkeeper in Ugandan League last season, “reads a statement from the Club.
It is a big for Tamale who was without a doubt the best goalkeeper in the just concluded Uganda Premier League.
While at Maroons, Tamale scooped a couple of man of the match accolades, kept a couple of cleansheets and also won two Pilsner Player of the month accolades.
And given his outstanding performances, Tamale is one of the top contenders for the player of the season awards.
Before his move to Maroons last season, Tamale was at Bright Stars, where he had spent a couple of seasons.
At Rayon Sports ,he joins fellow Ugandan players including Joachim Ojera, who recently made a permanent deal to the club.
His new side Rayon Sports will represent Rwanda in the 2023/25 CAF confederations cup come next season.
