Giancarlo Lopez: Vipers Sign 33-year old Brazilian Striker

Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have confirmed signing Brazilian Striker Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez.

Giancarlo, 33, joins the Venoms on a two-year deal and becomes Vipers first signing in the ongoing transfer window.

The Brazilian has played in his home Country in Brazil before stints in Asia specifically in Malaysia and Bangladesh.

Lopez, who started his career in Brazil had stints at Ferroviario in the 2012/13 season, joined EC Vitoria and later moved to Treza FC in 2014.

He also featured for Sao Caetano, Santo Andre, Macae, Rio Branco-AC, Ferroviario (second short stint in 2015), and Sousa in 2016 before leaving for Guarani-CE later that year.

At Vipers, he becomes the first ever Brazilian player to join the Kitende based side in club history.

He will be expected to boost the vipers frontline that has Yunus Sentamu, Abubaker Lawal, Cromwel Rwothomio among others as they prepare for continental football next season in the CAF Champions League.

Vipers have already let go of a couple of players including Frank Zaga Tumwesigye, Bashir Asiku, Ibrahim Orit among others.
