Continental T20 Cup: Cricket Cranes Ease Past Rwanda

Game 11 of Match Day 6 at the Continent Cup T20-Africa ongoing in Nairob, Kenya ended in a routine win for the Cricket Cranes who beat Rwanda by 7 wickets on Thursday.

Cricket Cranes captain Brian Masaba won the toss for the third time in a row, and unlike the previous two times, elected to bowl first against Rwanda.

The two sides took to the field, and Rwanda were able to put on board only 85 runs while losing all their wickets. Masaba ran out Rwanda’s last wicket in Eric Kubwimana, but Henry Senyondo was the man that delt with the opposition most, claiming 4 wickets and conceding just seven runs.

It was a performance that equalled his best figures ever, and it was one that won him the Player of the Match award- his second at this tournament.

Alpesh Ramjani got half of Senyondo’s wickets while Riazat Ali Shah and Siraje Nsubuga each picked one.

Uganda needed just 10 Overs to chase down that score. Riazat (30 not out), Roger Mukasa (29), and Simon Ssesazi (22) were the players that tracked it down with ease. Ssesazi’s strike rate was the best of all. The opener used just nine balls to score those runs.

The win takes Uganda temporarily on top of the table as Kenya play Botswana in the afternoon.

The teams will take a rest day on Friday and return to action on Saturday. Uganda will face Kenya on Saturday on their return.
