Ahmed Kassa In Limelight As JKL Face KIU Titans

Wednesday, June 21
*Nabisunsa Vs A1 Challenge – 6:30pm
*JKL Dolphins Vs KIU Titans – 8:30pm

JKL Dolphins new guard Ahmed Kassa will be pointing guns at his former bosses at KIU Titans as the two sides meet at Lugogo.

Kassa who joined KIU Titans in 2020 from Kampala University, was recently deemed surplus to requirements and released in the recently concluded transfer window.

He struggled for playing time in the first round at KIU, featuring in just six games, all off the bench and averaged just three points.

He has since been acquired by wobbling JKL Dolphins where he made his debut on Saturday, and he quickly made an impact with a 14-point show.

A good shooter of the ball, Kassa, a son to former Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Sadiq Wassa, will hope to prove the Titans wrong.

In the win against UPDF, he shot an impressive 4-for-9 from three as JKL returned to winning ways.

JKL who also added Fadhil Chuma (formerly at UCU Canons) and Kenyan Austin Oduwour, will be hoping for revenge having lost 44-59 to KIU Titans in their last game of the first round.

The Dolphins finished the first round bottom of the log, on 3-8 (three wins and eight losses), but after their opening win in the second round, they will be targeting nothing but a place in the Playoffs.

KIU Titans on the other hand, finished the first round in second place with nine wins and two losses. But they have since been leapfrogged by UCU in second position.

It’s strong to note that KIU’s only two losses in the first round came against City Oilers and UCU Canons.

The game on Wednesday against JKL will be their first in the second round.

As Kassa was being released, he was paving way for Congolese Forward Denis Balungu who makes a return to the Club for a third stint.

And the game against JKL will Balungu’s first at the Club this season.
