Vipers defeat Gaddafi to return to winning ways

KCCA FC 2-2 Oduparaka – MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

Vipers SC 2-0 Gaddafi FC – St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Vipers SC recovered well from their past loss of SC Villa as they defeated Gaddafi FC 2-0 at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

In form Abubakar Lawal scored the opener for the Venoms in the 23rd minute with a strike as he replied well to Milton Karisa’s soft pass.

Milton karisa had doubled the lead in the first half but custodian Joel Mutakubwa came up with a fantastic save.

In the early minutes of second half, Isa Mubiru could double the lead but his effort failed to hit the target.

In the 77th minute, Abdul Lumala who had taken long to appear on the score sheet doubled the lead for the Venoms.

The results means, Vipers SC moved to 42 points, Four and three points behind SC Villa and KCCA FC respectively.

On the other side, Gaddafi FC remained 10th with 29 points from 24 games.

Vipers will have to host KCCA on 5th Friday in their next encounter in Uganda Premier League.
