Team News

URA will be without Defender Benjamin Nyakoojo who was sent off against Blacks Power.

Young Stars Opiro Justine is also ruled out due to school engagement at the USSSA National Football championships in Fort Portal with St. Mary’s SS Kitende.

Defender Kiggundu Moses returns for UPDF after missing the previous game.

The rest of the squad is ready for selection.

Preview: URA seek to return to winning ways

URA will hope to bounce back as they welcome UPDF at Mehta stadium in the Uganda Premier League.

Sam Timbe’s side is winless in the last three matches – a 3-2 home defeat by Maroons and two draws against Vipers and Blacks Power.

But the Tax collectors last lost a game against UPDF on 4th April in 2018, they have since registered four wins and one draw.

URA have never lost at home when hosting UPDF since 31st October 2015, from then, they have won all the four matches.

UPDF will go all out to put an end to URA’s dominance.

The Army side will be wary of their poor record over the tax collectors that sees them with only two wins in eleven matches.

Brian Ssenyondo’s side will target maximum points inorder to ease relegation pressure.

They are currently five points above 14-placed Blacks Power who have played a game less.

They will hope to build on their 3-0 victory over Blacks Power in their previous games thanks to Ivan Ahimbisibwe brace and Kamagu Christopher.

In the reverse fixture, they played out one all draw at Bombo Barracks Ground.

Eric Ssenjobe cancelled out Zzinda Hussein opener.

With 35 points, URA are sixth after 25 matches. 8W, 11D, 6L.

They have scored 30 goals and conceeded 22 times.

In their last five matches, the tax collectors have managed just one win, three draws and one defeat.

UPDF sits 12th on the log with 25 points after 24 matches.

They have managed 22 goals and allowed 33 against them.

The Army side have two of their last five games, drawing one and two defeats.
