Uganda Cup: Vipers progress to the finals, set eyes on the double

Vipers SC have secured their place in the Stanbic Uganda Cup finals for the third successive time despite losing thei second leg game against Bright Stars by a 1-0 score at Kavumba recreation playgrounds.

Nelson Ssenkatuuka first half goap was not enough to pull up a massive come back as they were eliminated on the semifinals round.

The Kitende based side managed to hold onto their first leg advantage of a 4-0 win they picked up in the first leg match at St Mary’s stadium as they progressed to the finals on a 4-1 aggregated score.

Fresh from being crowned the Uganda Premier League champions, the Venoms now stand a chance of claiming the Uganda double on their second attempt.

Vipers fall short last season on their hunt for the double as they lost in the Uganda Cup finals against BUL FC but they managed to win the league, the same situation has seen the Venoms in a more comfortable place as they will face Big league side Police FC in the Cup finals.

Police FC eliminated Adjumani TC FC to complete their slot in the final which will be played in Lira on the 3rd of June at Aki Bua Stadium.
