Uganda Cup: Police Edge Adjumani in First Leg

Monday 16th May
Police FC 1-0 Adjumani Town Council

Police FC held on for a narrow 1-0 win over Adjumani Town Council in the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup semifinal at Kavumba Recreation Ground.

Hassan Kikoyo’s early penalty for the hosts was the difference to give Police FC a slim first leg advantage.

The Cops will have to avoid a defeat in Adjumani to progress to the final.

For Adjumani Town Council they have something to play for in the second round and will hope to seal it at home.

Kikoyo broke the deadlock for Police from the Spot in the 7th minute after a soft foul on Herman Wasswa who went down easily in the box.

Wasswa failed to double the host’s lead after he forced a double save from close range.

Adjumani TC were not clinical enough in the first half to take their chances after testing the Goalkeeper on a number of occasions.

The visitors started the second half Brightly but just like first half, they were too wasteful.

With ten minutes to the end of the game, Police FC could have doubled their lead but Mundashir Rashid made a goalline clearance racing on from a lobbying ball off the Goalkeeper.

Once again, Police FC was denied in the 90th minute after Maucha Sadat cleared away Ssentume Joseph ball off the line.

They will face off in the second leg on Friday 26th May at Paridi Playground.
