This season’s StarTimes Uganda Premier League will be remembered for the most dramatic title race in recent memory.

And as we head into the final match-day, three teams – SC Villa, Vipers and KCCA can still be crowned champions.

But all eyes and ears will be at Wankulukuku as leaders SC Villa welcome a tricky URA FC side.

The equation for SC Villa is simple – Win and be crowned champions, unlike Vipers and KCCA whose permutations involve what will happen elsewhere.

No one, even the club’s faithfuls would have thought that SC Villa will be champions this season.

And their season has not been straightforward given that two-point deduction and five-game hosting ban inflicted on them by FUFA after hooliganism in a league game against Wakiso Giants.

But under the stewardship of Jackson Magera, who was elevated to head coach role after the departure of Greek Petros Koukouras, Villa are on the verge of ending their league wait since 2004.

What a campaign it has been for a couple of lads at Villa, including those who are playing in top flight for the first time.

But all will be decided on Saturday, as Sam Timbe, the last coach to win a league title for Villa, brings URA to spoil the party.

URA, playing with nothing at stake, relegated Proline a few seasons back to give Express delight, and they might once again grab the headlines.

But all that, Vipers and KCCA must take care of their business if they are to give the league a photo-finish.

There is also the Golden boot race, with Charles Bbaale (SC Villa) and Allan Kayiwa (Express) both tied on 12 while Fred Amaku who is on 10, can upset the field with a hat-trick on the last day.

How to watch:

For the first in this league’s history, and thanks to StarTimes, three games will be broadcast live on a single day!

Villa Vs URA will be live on Sanyuka Prime. Vipers Vs Busoga United game is on FUFA TV while KCCA vs Bright Stars will be broadcast live on BBS TV, will those channels on StarTimes UPL.
