Tuesday, May 23
*SC Villa 1-0 Blacks Power
*BUL 1-1 Vipers
*Busoga United 0-0 KCCA
*URA 4-0 Gaddafi
*Bright Stars 0-1 Arua Hill

SC Villa have relegated Blacks Power and taken command of the Uganda Premier League title race.

Charles Bbaale scored the all important goal to send SC Villa top of the log on the day their fellow title contenders failed to grind out results in Jinja.

Vipers and KCCA were held by BUL and Busoga United respectively.

And with a game to end the season, the Jogoos are two points clear at the top.

Jackson Magera’s charges will win their first Uganda Premier League title since 2004, if they beat URA FC this Saturday at Wankulukuku.

Villa started the day in third and level on 49 points with Vipers and KCCA.

And with a poor goal difference in comparison with the other two, they knew that they just had to take care of their business and hope the rest can falter.

Everything went their way on the day, and if they win this year’s title, they will have BUL and Busoga United to thank in part.

Bbaale continued his scoring spree when he was set by Sheif Batte, and he will also be eyeing a golden boot on the last day of the season as he is level on 12 goals with Allan Kayiwa of Express.

As Villa celebrated moving closer to the league title, Blacks Power sunk their heads as they headed to FUFA Big League.

With 23 points, Blacks Power have been relegated to the lower division after their debut in top flight.

They are four points below the red zone and will end the season with a home game against Express.
