Mbarara City will all go out to seal their UPL promotion when they visit Kaaro Karungi in what is known as the Ankole derby.
It has been a successful campaign for Mbarara City, who were relegated the previous season to the Big League.
And with two games to go, they find themselves needing just one win with two games to go and thus complete their return to the Uganda Premier League.
The Ankole have been brilliant this season, under the stewardship of head coach Sadik Ssempijji.
They are currently in the second position with 54 points, after 28 games and are just a point below leaders Kitara with two games to spare.
And on thursday, against Kaaro Karungi, they will need a win to seal their place in their Uganda premier League next season.
They come into this game a motivated side, having thrashed Adjumani TC 5-0, on day their forward Henry Kitegenyi grabbed a hattrick last week at Kakyeka.
And with everything in their own hands now, they will all go out to stage a superior performance against their neighbours Kaaro Karungi.
On the other hand, the hosts, Kaaro Karungi will be seeking to hurt the Ankole Lions when they welcome them on Thursday.
They are currently 9th on the log with 37 points after 28 games.
And literally, they have nothing to play given their current position.
But this being a derby clash, they will be seeking to stop their rivals and more so at their own home at St. George Arena.
They have beaten some of the top contenders for promotional places like Police FC at the same venue, and that will also motivate them to stage a better performance against Mbarara City.
