Cricket: Olila High Shift Focus To T20 League

After winning their third national girls schools cricket week trophy last weekend, Olila High School now turn attention to the national women’s T20 Cricket League.

The side will face Wanderers at the Jinja Cricket Oval on Saturday hoping to secure their first victory of the season. Olila bowled off this campaign on April 8 against rivals Soroti City, but they lost that double header and currently find themselves seated fourth in the league with no point.

As they head into another double header, the eastern giants will be hopeful to get their season going, but the last time these two sides met, Sam Walusimbi’s side won convincingly by 6 wickets.

Like Olila, Wanderers also lost the double header to Soroti City. The side coached by Ugandan legend Walusimbi will also be aiming at earning their first win of the season.

Olila beat Wanderers by 51 runs in the first leg last term, but Wanderers will hope they extend their run against the Soroti side.

In the other women’s game tomorrow, defending champions Aziz Damani will be up against Pioneer at the Green Oval in Entebbe in both the sides’ first game of the campaign.

Damani were to open their season against Tornado Bee last month, but the latter forfeited the fixture.

Damani sit second in the league with four points earned from that forfeited game.
