FUFA Big League side Adjumani TC FC has joined Northern Gateway as the first two teams to be relegated to the Regional League this season.

Adjumani were thrashed by Mbarara City 5-0 at Kakyeka stadium on Thursday to leave them packing to Uganda’s third tiers.

Henry Kitegenyi led the massacre with a hat-trick while Seiri Arigumaho and Jamie Nvule added a goal each.

And that hammered the final nail in Adjumani’s coffin with two games to spare.

Adjumani TC are currently second from the bottom with 26 points from 28 games.

Adding a maximum of six points which they can collect in their two remaining games can’t lift the side above the red zone.

They will go down with many scars after they were attacked by Kataka fans, with a couple of their players sustaining injuries.

But despite their struggles in the league, they are already in the semi finals of the Uganda Cup where they will face Police FC at that stage.

And that will be their only hope of happiness and also fancy their chances of making history to reach the finals.

With two games to end the Big League season, Luweero United and Soroti City FC, who are also in the red zone, will need to double their efforts if they are to save their season as well.

Note – At the end of the season, four bot tom teams are relegated to Regional Leagues while the too three are promoted to the Uganda Premier League.
