The 2022/2023 FUFA Big league will see an entertaining climax as the battle for top flight football continues on the last day with just a point separating this s place d NEC FC and fourth placed Police FC.
NEC FC sit third on the log with 54 points are yet to seal a qualification slot to the 2023/2024 Uganda Premier League season as they will need to pick up maximum points as they visit Kataka FC at Mbale Municipal stadium.
NEC FC managed to pick up a slim victory in a last minute winner as they get defeated Kyetume by a 2-1 scoreline in their last home game in Bugolobi.
A win against Kataka will ensure that the Bugolobi based side finish third in the 2022/2023 FUFA Big league season hence securing their promotion to the top flight league with just a season played in the Big league.
On the other hand, Police FC will fancy their chances against Jinja North United to see if they can make a return to top flight football as they sit in the fourth position on 53 points with just a point below third placed NEC FC on 54 points.
The cops come into this game with a boost of a 1-0 away win against Booma FC and they will rely much on their defence which has seen them concede the fewest goals in the league as they have only managed to let in 19goals alongside Mbarara City.
Jinja North come into their last game of the season having secured their stay in the FUFA Big league as they managed to pick a 2-0 win against Calvary FC which saw them move to the 9th position with 38 points.
A Police FC win against Jinja North United will see the cops move to 56 points as they wait for the results from the NEC FC game against Kataka to see if they can qualify to the UPL.
