Vipers target league double against URA FC

Vipers SC will be taking on URA today on 22nd April in Uganda Premier League at St Mary’s Kitende.

Vipers comes into the game looking for their 4th win in a row having won their last 3 games.

Alex Isabirye head coach at Vipers revealed the importance of the game in the title race.

” Yeah, super-important game, thats the one thing that’s not different to all the other games because obviously for us super- important, for URA FC super-important”.

Alex Isabirye further revealed on how his team need to use maximum energy to defeat URA and how is team is focused on wining a game per game.

” l’m not sure in the moment, l don’t think you could now say it’s nicer to fight for the title or whatever, in the moment it’s just about (that) we have to win football games. And you get usually what you deserve if you work hard and that’s what we try”.

” But we know it’s a massive game, a massive week coming up. But for tomorrow they deserve all the attention, we should not think about the other games”.

“That’s how we approach it, it’s clear, against URA you have to be part of your game, you have to defend on a super high level and you have to play football as well “.

An own goal of Benjamin Nyakoojo was the only difference when Vipers was winning the first fixture at Nakisunga Saza Grounds.

Only Murushid Juuko and Alfred Mudekereza are the only absentees in today’s game as Isabirye will have a fully fit squad.

In their last 36 meetings, Vipers have won 8, drawn 12 and lost 16.

Vipers are 3rd on the Uganda Premier League log with 35 points from 18 games, URA are 4th with 33 points, a win could see them move to 3rd place.
