Villa 0-1 Arua Hill
Onduparaka 0-1 Bright Stars

An early own goal from Goalkeeper Were Derrick gave Vipers all the three points against UPDF at Bombo Barracks Ground.

With leaders Villa losing against Arua Hill, Vipers have now closed the gap to eight points with four games in hand.

The Venoms dominance over UPDF continues however this time they had to dig deep for the maximum points.

The Army side was the better side and deserved more but they were not clinical enough.

In under two minutes, Vipers broke the deadlock through an own goal from Goalkeeper Were Derrick who pushed Milton Karisa’s cross into his own net.

In the first half, the venoms piled more pressure to add to their tally.

But were unlucky not to score more, Abubaker Lawal had his low attempt cleared off the line by Kawagu Christopher.

A few moments before they had a penalty appeal but Yunus Sentamu was adjudged to have gone down too easily.

In the second half, Vipers were a shadow of themselves, they looked too casual and toothless.

Karisa failed to find the target racing from a Luyima Farouk long ball but he miscued his strike off target.

The hosts also had their ball cleared off the line by Hillary Mukundane after Badru Jibril Nsimbe poked past the Goalkeeper in a tight angle.

In the second stanza UPDF were more dominant and threatening but couldn’t get past the Goalkeeper.

However, Kasozi Samson could have levelled but his header hit the woodwork from an Oyirwoth Daglas corner kick.

They also had a penalty shout waved away after Nsimbe was brought down in the forbidden area by Luyima.

Faridi Achumu Rashid had his goal bound header deflected by Torach Rogers in the added minutes for what proved to be the last chance of the game.

UPDF are back in the relegation mix, they sit just three points above the red zone.
