URA 2-1 Wakiso Giants
URA held on to a 2-1 victory over Wakiso Giants in the Startimes Uganda Premier League at Mehta Stadium.
Saidi Kyeyune and Kabon Living were on target for the Tax collectors while Shariph Kimbowa scored a consolation from the spot for the visitors.
The victory is URA’s first since returning to the Mehta Stadium after a 2-1 defeat on their return against Busoga United.
However, its Wakiso Giants first away defeat against URA after three attempts.
Toothless and injury-hit Purple Sharks have now lost their fifth game of the second round.
The only positive is that, Wakiso Giants have finally scored a goal after firing blanks in the last two games.
The hosts made their intentions known from the start after Kabon was gifted with the first chance of the game in the first minute but his effort was easy for the Goalkeeper.
The hosts kept on asking more questions but Kyeyune and Dada Ibrahim couldn’t find the back of the net.
Three minutes into the half hour mark, Kyeyune broke the deadlock to give the hosts a deserved lead with a rebound after Goalkeeper spilled the ball.
Goalkeeper Kiirya was injured in the process and he was replaced by Bashir Ssekagya before Marvin Mukiibi came on for injured Titus Ssematimba at the stroke of halftime.
In the 55th minute, Kabon doubled the host’s lead off Dada assist to net his third goal of the second round.
Four minutes later, Kimbowa pulled one back for the visitors from the spot after Handball in the box to give Wakiso Giants some hope of a come back.
However, it’s the hosts who threatened to add to their tally but Kabon’s freekick was dealt with by Goalkeeper Ssekagya.
URA moves to 5th on the log 29 points in 20 matches while Wakiso Giants drops to 8th with 26 points after 20 matches.

URA will take on Arua Hill at Barifa Ground on Saturday 8th April while Wakiso Giants host SC Villa at Kabaka Kyabaggu on the same day.
