The 2023 UMEA Solidarity games came to a climax on Monday 11th April at Kawanda Secondary School playgrounds as Kibuli Secondary School emerged the overall winners.
Kibuli Secondary School bagged three gold medals, one silver medal and a third place Finnish in Football to beat Kawempe Muslim Secondary School to the overall trophy.
The 2023 champions Kibuli SS were gold winners in Table Tennis both the boys and girls category as they also claimed Gold in Badminton boys category with their silver medal coming from Handball in the Girls category.
Kawempe Muslim Secondary School dominated the football games as they won Gold medals from both the Boys and Girls categories with the Boys team defeated Madinah Islamic 1-0 with a goal from Obegan Ronald to clinch their maiden UMEA Solidarity games trophy in the finals graced by Prince Kasim Nakibinge Kakungulu.
The Prince emphasized in the issue of creating unity among Islamic foundation schools as a major as to why the UMEA games have managed to thrive in nurturing alot of national team stars.
“UMEA games started in 1998 with the primary target of creating unity among UMEA Schools and promoting health competitions and I thank those who have been organizing for having achieved our goals, That is how we have managed to witness the mentorship of a lot of national and international stars.”

Kawempe Muslim Secondary School girls teams claimed both the gold and Silver in football as they saw both of their teams reach the finals with the senior team defeating their B team by a 1-0 score courtesy of a goal from Hadijja Nandago.
Ngando SS defeated the hosts Kawanda SS in the finals of the Netball competitions to win their only medal. The hosts of Kawanda SS were dominant in Handball were they won Gold in the girls category and settling for bronze in the boys category.
