Uganda Premier League: KCCA FC held by Maroons at home

KCCA FC came from a goal down to draw with Maroons FC in a 1-1 draw in the Startimes Uganda Premier league match played at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Rogers Kassim Mato the Uganda cranes hereo was again on the score sheet as he helped KCCA FC pick a vital point against Maroons despite failing to reclaim the top of the table position.

Fred Amaku scored first for the visitors in the 9th minute when he rose high to net thanks to Ceaser Olega’s cross.

However, towards the end of first half, Inform Mato had to stand on his feet to level for the Kasasiro boys thanks to Allan Okello’s delivery.

KCCA tried to penetrate through in the second half to find a winner though Maroons denied them the chance .

This explains why even Maroons goalkeeper Simon Tamale was chosen as the  man of match.

Following the results, KCCA moved to 2nd with 36 points from 17games, They are two games less than the table leaders SC Villa who have 37 points.

On the other side Maroons moved to 8th with 26 points from from 19 games.

In other UPL game, URA returned to winning ways with an away boost against Soltilo Bright stars.

The tax collectors defeated Soltilo Bright stars 0-2 at Kavumba Recreation Grounds on 2nd April.

With the results, URA moved to 5th place with 26 points from 19 games. 

Bright stars remained with 24 points from 18 games in the 10th place.
