Uganda Cup: Express Seek To Eliminate Adjumani TC

Friday 14th April
Adjumani TC vs Express, Paridi Playground

Uganda cup joint record champions Express will hope to overcome Adjumani Town Council when they face off at Paridi Playground in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Quarterfinals.

The Red Eagles have set their sights on the Semifinals in a competition that remains their only hope for silverware this season.

Express who have turned fortunes around after a slow start in the league this year, will bank on their impressive run and pedigree to oust the FUFA Big League side.

James Odoch’s charges knocked out West Nile Regional League side Paidha Black Angels 4-0 in the Round of 16 at Wankulukuku Stadium.

The Red Eagles earlier ejected Kajjansi United and Lugazi FC in the Round of 64 and 32 respectively.

Express Head Coach Odoch James said: “We have prepared well and we know we’re playing a game with not an easy side to beat at home but we still need the points because we are putting much emphasis on coming out top in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.”

For Adjumani Town Council, they will hope to upset the Uganda Premier League side.

The Minnows will bank on their home support but they will have to be clinical enough if they are to book a place in the last four.

But it remains to be seen how healthy their squad is after Six of their players were injured after attacks by Kataka fans in Big League last week.

Qualifying to the this round, Adjumani TC needed shoot-outs to get rid of Bunyaruguru United 4-3 after a goalless normal time.

In the Round of 64, they knocked out Simba FC on Penalties before overcoming Elite FC 2-1 in the round of 32.
