Julius Poloto scored the all important goal as KCCA FC picked a vital 1-0 victory over Gaddafi at Kakindu.

Poloto, off the bench, scored in the 73rd minute with a powerful shot off Saidi Mayanja’s pass to earn his side all the needed points.

It was a big win for KCCA FC and a second consecutive win under new coach Jackson Mayanja.

They now moved to 44 points and are just two points below leaders SC Villa, who picked vital 1-0 over rivals Vipers on Saturday.

For Gaddafi, it was yet another poor day for them, as they dropped points at home.

In a game held at Kakindu, the Visitors had the best chances at half time as they looked lively.

Allan Okello was twice denied by goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa while Muhammad Shaban had a goal ruled out for offside.

For the hosts, Gaddafi, striker Joel Madondo had the best chance as his effort hit the cross bar.

After the break, KCCA came back the better side as they launched various attempts.

Their head coach, Mayanja introduced in Poloto for Brian Majwega, a move that later paid off.

And in the 73rd minute, Poloto showed composure to send in a powerful shot that beat goalkeeper Mutakubwa, thanks to a pass from youngster Saidi Mayanja.

There on, there was literally nothing to write about and KCCA did just enough to pick all the maximum points.

Victory ensured that KCCA moved to 44 points and are just two below leaders Villa, who have played two games more.

For Gaddafi, they stayed in the 10th position with 29 points after 23 games and will need to double their efforts if they are to avoid the relegation dog fight in the remaining fixtures.
