Power lost 53-55 against Kampala Rockets in one of the shocking results on Sunday at Lugogo in the National Basketball League.

Power had looked the better side after leading 13-07 after the first quarter, and were up by four points heading into the fourth.

But Kampala Rockets who had lost their two opening games, started to fight back and when Emmanuel Okumu made a driving layup deep in the fourth, the Rockets opened a five point advantage.

Yat Tiem Ruot scored a three-pointer to reduce Power’s deficit to two points with seconds on the clock.

And Power had a chance to win it on the buzzer only for Guellord Mobanza to fluff a three-point attempt.

This, was the first win for Kampala Rockets since earning NBL promotion.

Mobanza who scored 18 points, was the only Power player to reach double digits!

Okumu (18), Kur Garang (13) and Adut Mayer (10) led the scoring for Kampala Rockets.

Elsewhere, UPDF Tomahawks stunned UCU Canons for their third win in six games.

Jimmy Otim scored a game high 27 points but it proved not enough for Coach Nicholas Natuhereza’s UCU whose side has now lost three in four games this season.

Arthur Wanyoto continued to impress, notching 23 points for Baker Kyambadde’s UPDF Tomahawks who welcomed back Ferdinand Odama from FUBA suspension while David Opolot served his last game.

Luak Ruai scored 26 points as City Oilers rolled over Ndejje University Angels 79-57 for their 10th win in a row.
