NBL: FUBA Postpones League Game Over Wedding

Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA) has moved a National Basketball League game this Saturday because of a wedding, this website has established.

The league game between Nam Blazers and Our Saviour, that was set to be played at Abja Parks in Naalya, will get a new date.

This, is after Our Saviour basketball club wrote to FUBA requesting to move their game as the date coincides with a wedding of one their players Donald Elton Bakara.

“We are kindly requesting for the postponement of our game number 81 on the 29th of April against Namuwongo Blazers,” reads a letter from Our Saviour team manager to FUBA Competitions Chairman Donnan Byabazaire.

“As a team, we would like to support and celebrate with our teammate Mr. Donald Elton Bakara on his wedding day. Kindly consider our request.”

And FUBA has granted the team’s request after Game week 7 fixtures were issued on Tuesday without the said match.

The development means that on the day Namuwongo Blazers host league games (at Abja Parks in Naalya), they will not be in action!

Only four games will be played on Saturday as the league will be played at Naalya for the first time ever.

This is the second game to be postponed this season after the Women NBL fixture between JKL Lady Dolphins and Nabisunsa.

Our Saviour sit bottom of the league table after four games (1-3), with their only win coming against Rezlife Saints.
