Nam Blazers eased past Kampala Rockets as the National Basketball League made its debut at Abja Parks in Naalya.

And Last season’s runners up, Blazers, who were the hosts, lived as advertised with a 103-70 win.

Stephen Nyeko’s charges quickly got of out the blocks to lead 33-11 after the first quarter and never relinquished their advantage there after.

Kampala Rockets tried to match the effort in second and third quarters which they won 25-24 and 25-20, but were hard done by a poor fourth which they lost 26-09.

Peter Cheng scored a game high 30 points on 10-of-18 shooting, adding 16 rebounds to seal a sweet double double.

Paul Odong (19), Michael Makiadi (15), Richard Ongom (13) and Nasser Guddi (12) also reached double digits in scoring.

Adut Mayer and Gideon Kasasa had 14 and 13 points respectively for the Rockets who slip to a fifth loss.

The Blazers who lost to City Oilers and UCU Canons, have won five games so far this season.

Ndejje University Angels beat UPDF in an ill-fated affair, JKL rolled over Magic Stormers while Angels beat A1 Challenge for their first win of the season.
