KIU Titans registered a commanding 100-51 win over UPDF Tomahawks in the National Basketball League on Saturday at the Indoor Arena in Lugogo.

The Titans were 54-26 up at the long break and won by 49 points against a UPDF side that scored just right points in the last quarter.

Amisi Saidi was 7-for-7 from the line and scored 15 points while Joseph Chuma and Peter Obleng added 13 and 12 respectively.

Innocent Ochera (11) and Brian Opiyo (10) also reached double figures in scoring for the Titans.

Every KIU Titans player, including Ahmed Kassa who had nine points, registered his name into the scoring column.

Arthur Wanyoto scored 16 points and 13 rebounds, and he was the only UPDF player to reach double figures.

UPDF missed all their 13 attempts from outside the three-point arc and turned over the ball 36 times.

Its the fourth straight win for KIU Titans since losing to City Oilers in their opening League game.

It’s the third loss in four games for UPDF who missed David Opolot and Ferdinand Odama due to FUBA suspensions.

Elsewhere, Our Saviour picked their first win of the season with a 76-67 win over Rezlife Saints in the Church derby with Moses Mugisha leading the way with 20 points.

KCCA Panthers handed Kampala Rockets their second win in as many games with a 71-58 win. Daniel Gaaki and Wol Wol Mawien scored 14 and 13 points respectively for the Panthers.

In the Women’s fixture, JT Lady Jaguars grit teeth to overcome Nabisunsa Girls 66-64. Rhoda Naggita scored a game high 21 points, Namuwaya Muhayimuna had a double double of 17 points and 10 rebounds while Zainah Lokwameri had 10 points in the win.

In the first game, Margaret Baagala produced the best individual display in a recent while with a 47 points from 16-of-38 shooting to help Kampala University beat A1 Challenge 70-64.
