Innocent Media Brace Lifts Arua Hill Past Gaddafi

Saturday 22nd April
Arua Hill 2-1 Gadaffi FC

Innocent Media scored twice to inspire Arua Hill come back over 10-man Gadaffi FC at the Barifa Ground in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

Innocent Media goals in each half cancelled Alex Kitata opener.

The visitors played the whole second half with a numerical disadvantage after Elvis Ngonde was shown a straight red card.

The victory is Arua Hill’ first three points over Gadaffi FC in four attempts.

The Kongolo also revenge their 2-0 away defeat in the reverse fixture.

Gadaffi FC started Brightly and they took the lead in the 5th minute through Kitata who beat the offside trap to slot past the Goalkeeper in a tight angle off Elvis Ngonde looping ball.

The hosts pressed for an instant response but Media’ diving header was tipped over the bar by Goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa.

In the 12th minute, Media restored parity burying from an Isaac Ogwang brushing header from Goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa long ball.

Arua Hill could have added to their tally in the first half but neither Kamwesiga Jacob nor Allan Mugalu could hit the target.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men at the start of the second half in the 47th minute after Ngonde was shown marching order for booting Mugalu on the chest.

The visitors didn’t recover after the red card after they struggled to get the ball rolling.

And in the hour mark, Media doubled the host’s lead tapping home from close range off Richard Matovu Cross after a dummy from Brian Omirambe to complete his brace.

Brian Omirambe, Mugalu and Niwamanya Dickson all had decent chances to find the back of the net but they were not clinical enough.

Arua Hill are 5th with 33 points after 21 matches while Gadaffi FC sits 7th with 29 points.
