As it approaches its end, the Nile Special Rugby League is heating up and the battle for the title remains uncertain.

Defending champions and current table leaders- Heathens prepare to host third placed Pirates in their second leg league tie at 2.30pm EAT in Kyadondo on match day 15.

The two sides are set to renew their rivalry, with the Pirates having won the first leg 24-18 at Kings Park in the opening game of the season.

Heathens are currently sitting pretty at the top of the table with 62 points following their hard fought victory against Buffaloes in match day 14 where they came from behind to secure a 20-19 victory but no bonus points earned.

The home side will be looking to bounce back from the Buffaloes shock and their loss to Pirates in the first leg to maintain their position at the top of the table

Pirates on the other hand, are level on points with KOBs at 61 and are currently sitting third. They will be working to build on their first leg victory against the defending champions and close the gap on them.

Heathens have been in excellent form this season. Their loss to Pirates in the beginning of the season is their only loss this far, the same goes for Pirates who have registered just one loss against KOBs.

The “Yellow Machine” will be hoping to use their home ground advantage in the return leg to secure a vital win against the Sea Robbers.

With just four games left in the season, every point surely counts, and both teams will be looking to make the most of this clash.

A win for either team in this encounter will be crucial in their race for the title, especially given that the other team in the title race- KOBs, have a much more appealing fixture against Walukuba, one in which they stand a stand to scoop maximum points and could see themselves back at the top if results from their two rivals turn out favourable.

For this weekend therefore, the pressure falls mostly on Heathens and Pirates as each of them has to fight against the other to keep their title hopes alive.

It with no doubt promises to be an exciting match since for both teams, there is everything to fight for and this face off could possibly be a title decider at the end of the day.
