Kawempe Muslim LFC walloped Kampala Queens WFC 5-1 as they advanced to the semi finals of FUFA women Cup at the IUIU Kabojja play grounds on Sunday.

Goals from Phionah Nabulime, Agnes Nabukenya, Shakirah Nyinagahirwa, Allen Nassazi and captain Aisha Nantongo (penalty) ensured that the Ayub Khalifa coached side reached the next stage in style.

Defender Lukia Namubiru scored the only goal as the Queens of Soccer bowed out in pain.

The loss, first for Kampala Queens this season ended their unbeaten run they had enjoyed both in the league and in the Women’s Cup.

And it ends the Queens’ chase for a double having sealed the league title with four games to spare.

It was a good day for Kawempe Muslim and more so at an enemy territory.

On sunday, they looked brilliant from the first whistle and it wasn’t a surprise when they got scored first in the 12th minute through Nabulime to set the tone.

But the hosts, Kampala Queens, levelled matters before the break through defender Lukia in the 34th minute.

At the restart of the second stanza, Kawempe Muslim restored their lead through Nabukenya in the 51st minute.

And Nyanagahirwa scored the third in the 65th minute before Nassazi added the fourth eight minutes later.

With ten minutes to play, Nantongo put the icing on the sugar with the fifth goal and the last nail in Kampala Queens coffin.

Victory ensured that Ayub Khalifa’s charges reached the semi finals of the ongoing FUFA Women cup. They will now face off with Uganda Martyrs, who beat She Makerere 2-1 on Sunday to reach this far.

Elsewhere, Asubo Gafford needed shootouts to beat St. Noa Girls 4-3 on penalties and they will face off with She Maroons in the other semi final of this competition.

Its strong to note that the FUFA Women Cup is similar to the Men’s version of the FUFA Stanbic Uganda Cup.

It was last held in 2018/19 season when Makerere University (She Mak) beat Lady Doves at Lugogo.

This is the fourth edition of the competition, with Olila (2017) and UCU (2018) previous winners.
