Challenger Series: Uganda Sevens Squad Named

Tolbert Onyango, the head coach of the Uganda Sevens has chosen the final squad ahead of the World Rugby Challenger Series scheduled to kick off on Thursday 20th April, 2023.

The squad is made up of thirteen players, with some prominent names missing but with a good mix of experienced players, most of whom took part in the 2022 World rugby challenger series in Chile.

Allan Olango and Aaron Tukei are the two new faces joining the force in this year’s tournament.

Having gone as far as the quarter finals in the 2022 campaign, Coach Tolbert says progressing a level higher into the semi finals would be a great positive to the team and so that’s the aim in this year’s competition.

Uganda plays Brazil in their opening pool game on Thursday 20th, April at 11.28am EAT and will then take on Jamaica later in the day at 2.42pm EAT.
