*UAE W 🇦🇪 won by 50 runs

Proscovia Alako’s worrying form continued as Uganda’s Victoria Pearls terribly lost by 50 runs all out to UAE at the Capricorn Eagles Quadrangular Series ongoing in Windhoek in Namibia.

Alako opened the batting with Kevin Awino, and although she ended the game as the only player with a six, the 20-year-old was run out after scoring just 14 runs.

In the recently concluded Victoria Series, Alako who was named best batter at the Waterfalls League that happened in January, managed just 21 runs throughout the tournament.

Her poor form was evident at the Series and it is one she has carried to Namibia.

Alako’s opening partner, Kevin Awino was Uganda’s best batter with her 21 runs. The two were the only players in the team to score in double digits.

Janet Mbabazi (5), Stephanie Nampiina (9), Immaculate Nakisuyi (2), Rita Musamali (8), Consy Aweko (6), Irene Alumo (1) and Sarah Akiteng (1) summed up Uganda’s scores. Evelyn Anyipo and Phionah Kulume went for a duck (0).

Aweko, the team captain will feel her side conceded way too many runs in the first innings that proved so hard to chase.

Alumo (2), Aweko (1), Anyipo (1) and Mbabazi (1) picked the wickets for Uganda, but Kavisha Kumar who was named the best batter at the Victoria Series and Theertha Satish were especially unforgiving-with the bat-to Uganda, with the former recording 30 runs while the latter recorded 39.

Uganda beat UAE at the Victoria Series, but the Arabians delivered their revenge mercilessly. The two nations left Uganda on the same day on Sunday, and were both playing their first game of the tournament.

The Victoria Pearls will return to action on Thursday against Hong Kong before playing UAE again on Saturday morning. On the same day, Uganda will face the hosts in the afternoon game.
